Seriously, First Season is of the same high quality writing, character and plot development that has become the norm for RJ Scott and V.L. Locey.
First Season opens with media troubleshooter Layton Foxx being brought in to help deal with the consequences of an event that took place in Changing Lines (Harrisburg Railers #1). One of the things I like seeing in series books is not having to read the previous novel in the series to understand what's happening in the current novel. Such is the case with First Season.
Things progress in a positive manner, Layton's work with the team following a logical progression.
We first met spoiled rich brat Adler Lockhart as a minor character from Changing Lines as he becomes one of the main characters in First Season. I love the way the arrogant ass was written.
There have been times when I wanted to laugh at Layton and Adler, and there have been times I wanted to knock their heads together, or rent two 18-wheelers to pull their respective heads out of their asses.
There are some poignant moments as we learn about Layton and Adler's pasts.
I give First Season a 5 out of 5 and can't recommend it, along with Changing Lines highly enough.
Awesome job, ladies. I'm definitely looking forward to Deep Edge (Harrisburg Railers #3).
