If you have not read the first 10 chapters yet, you can find them here.

Here's a little preview of what you'll find:

Two months later, Dave was recovered enough to bring him out of his coma. He slowly awoke. “Where am I?” he asked hoarsely.

“Dave, I’m Doctor Foster. You’re in County General Hospital in the intensive care unit. You’ve been in a coma for two months. There was an explosion at the LGBT Center. You suffered a number of internal injuries.” He hesitated to tell him about the loss of his right leg just above the knee. “How are your eyes? Can you see me okay?”

Dave nodded then swallowed hard. “Greg…”

“He’s right here next to you.”

Dave turned his head slowly and saw Greg lying unconscious next to him. He reached over and caressed his cheek. “Baby, wake up. It’s me.” Getting no response he turned his head to look at Doctor Foster with fear in his eyes. “His face is so cold. Is he dead?”

Heading Down The Long Road chapter 10

Chapter 10 of Heading Down The Long Road (the 4th book in The Long Road series) is up. You can find the chapter here.

If you have not read the first 9 chapters yet, you can find them here.

Here's a little preview of what you'll find:

Commissioner looked at the list and his knees buckled when he saw the four names. Jay and Doctor Foster quickly grabbed him and helped him to the nearest chair. “Commissioner, what happened? Are you okay?”

“N-n-n-no.” He whispered hoarsely. “Greg Peters and Gwen Jordan were two of my best officers. They were the leaders of a task force I set up to investigate and prevent violence against LGBT people. I had them set up the fellowship group. Kevin Jordan is relatively new to the force. He’s Gwen’s brother. Dave….” His voice broke and tears came hard. He buried his face in his hands and sobbed while Jay and Doctor Foster each put a hand on the Commissioner’s shoulders. After a time he regained his composure. “Dave is more of a son to me than he was a boss. I don’t know what I’ll do if he….” was all he managed to say before losing it again.

Doctor Foster went around the desk, selected a chart and started looking through it. “Am I to assume then that you are his next of kin, since there are none listed in his records?”

Here is a sneak peek at what you'll find in chapter 27:

As Ryan paced back and forth, he became more and more agitated. There is an answer and I’ve got to find it somehow. I just don’t know where to begin looking. I’m getting really frustrated. The sound of his comp-com ringing startled him out of his thoughts. Duncan was calling his. “Duncan. What’s up?”

“I’m just calling to check on you to see how you’re doing.”

“How I’m doing? How I’m doing? How the fuck do you think I’m doing?” Ryan answered with a little more heat than he intended. But then again, with all the rage and frustration, maybe it wasn’t enough.
