While I have all three books in the series, I purposely did not read the first two in order to see whether or not Bitten By Desire could be read stand-alone. The answer is yes and no.
For the most part, I found the story to be very enjoyable as is. However, there were events in the story and characters that appeared to be important, but without having read the previous novels (a situation I most definitely rectify) I did not know what the events were or who the characters were and how both the events and characters fit in. This decreased my enjoyment of Bitten By Desire, but not by much.
I would like to have seen more information on what the events were and who the characters were. It didn't have to be full chapters, but a small paragraph would help.
All that being said, I give Bitten By Desire a 4.5 out of 5 stars and put it on the recommended reading list, but only after having read Bitten By Mistake (book 1) and Bitten By Design first.
