Pop star Tyler Hart is desperate for peace after a humiliating public scandal. It seems like Stanford Creek may well be the place to lay low. After all, it worked for his friends and former bandmates, Cody and Danny. He borrows a cabin and settles in for a quiet Christmas…well, not quite.
Garrett Campbell is on the run. Wounded in the line of duty, he escapes to the only place he feels safe, Stanford Creek and his brother’s cabin. Only he doesn’t realize he’ll have a roommate, and a sexy one at that.
Amid snow falls and winter winds, passion burns bright. When danger threatens to follow Garrett, he has to decide whether to run again before his secrets could kill him and the man of his dreams.

RJ also writes MF romance under the name Rozenn Scott.
The last time she had a week’s break from writing she didn't like it one little bit, and she has yet to meet a bottle of wine she couldn’t defeat.

Once again, RJ Scott gives us another page-turner. The third book in the Stanford Creek series focuses on two men, one trying to find peace among a scandal, the other with secrets that could cost him his life, bumping into a winter cabin.
The plot is perfect for a made-for-TV movie, one I would not miss for anything. I cannot help but wonder if, and how many times, the situation depicted by the plot happens in real life. Being ex-military, albeit Air Force, it wouldn't surprise me. The plot is just that realistic.
Equally realistic are the characters. How many times do we read about rock stars and their scandals? How many times do we turn on the news and discover some secret government operation being brought into the light, some heroes losing their lives, others living on to continue keeping this country safe?
In my mind's eye I can easily see Ty and the other members of Hudson Hart performing in sold out concerts, their songs hitting the tops of the charts.
In that same mind's eye I can see Garrett in the middle of hostage situations.
That's how real the characters are.
As is typical of RJ's writing of books in a series, you don't need to read any of them to understand what's going on in the current book. That's one thing I love about her writing, and why I continually read (and sometimes re-read) her stories.
On a scale of 1 to 5, I give it a 5. This is a must read book!
Thank you, what a wonderful review :) XXXX
ReplyDeleteMy pleasure. Now I have to go read the first two books in the Stanford Creek series, as well as re-reading Show and Secrets after I've read the first two.
