Wednesday briefs - Evans Woodworking chapter 3

Chapter 3 of my new Wednesday Brief's story is now on line. You can read it by clicking here.

If you have just come across my blog and would like to read the entire story, you can click here to get to the Wednesday briefs page.

This week I chose 2 prompts, "Slide your hand any closer to that and they'll be calling you Lefty from now on!" and "It's been a long day, very hard...and not in a good way."

Here is a sneak peek at what you'll find in chapter 3:

At home, after recovering from the shocking news Ethan called Patrick and asked him to come over. As soon as he walked through the door, Ethan rounded on him. “Thanks to you, I’m now HIV positive. You are the first and only guy I’ve ever had sex with. I don’t know how, but only you could have infected me. You had to have known you were HIV positive.”

“Hey, what can I say? Yeah, I knew, but I wanted to fuck you without a rubber, so I did. I slipped you Rohypnol 'cause I knew you'd never agree to barebacking. No big deal.”

“No big deal? Is that all you can say? No big deal? Get the fuck out of my house. I don’t ever want to see your fucking face or hear from you again. I’ll get a restraining order if I need to. Get out now!”

"Oh, I'll leave, but first..." he got closer to Ethan and put his hand on his back, slowly moving it down towards his ass.

"Slide your hand any closer to that and they'll be calling you Lefty from now on!" Ethan snarled, stepping away from Patrick. "Leave now before I call the cops! You know I'll do it."

Wednesday briefs - Evan's Woodworking chapter 2

Chapter 2 of my new Wednesday Brief's story is now on line. You can read it by clicking here.

If you have just come across my blog and would like to read the entire story, you can click here to get to the Wednesday briefs page.

This week I used the prompt “I may love you, but you can damn well pick up your own dirty underwear”

Here's a sneak peek at what you'll find in chapter 2:

In practically no time at all Ethan had the estimates ready. He called the client and gave them both estimates. When asked which option would be better, he responded, “The wood is in really good shape. It’s solid wood, not that veneer-covered pressboard crap. I really don’t think that a complete rebuild is necessary. All it really needs is sanding down and refinishing. I like to give my customers the option of restoration or a complete rebuild.

“Some pieces of furniture that have come through here needed to be rebuilt from scratch. This is not one of those cases. Okay. Restoration it is. It will take a couple of weeks, no more. The trickiest part is going to find a wood stain that matches the current stain. Use a different stain? Yeah I can do that. I tell you what. Why don’t you come by and take a look at the different stains I have here. If you don’t like any of them, I have samples of the other available stains. I only keep the most popular ones here. Okay, great. I’ll get started sanding it down right away. Bye, now.”

He turned to Patrick, who was staring at him, mouth agape. “Is that all you have to do to make it look like new? Sand it down and put new stain on it?”

Wednesday briefs - Evan's Woodworking chapter 1

Chapter 1 of my new Wednesday Brief's story is now on line. You can read it by clicking here.

If you have just come across my blog and would like to read the entire story, you can click here to get to the Wednesday briefs page.

This week I used the full moon picture, as well as the word prompt 'He stroked the soft hair beneath his hand, wishing he could...'

Here's a sneak peek at what you'll find in chapter 1:

Ethan walked into his workshop and looked around. He let out a contented sigh as he looked over the antique furniture waiting to be restored. Which one do I start with? He pondered. Evans Woodworking was well known throughout the state as the very best in furniture restoration. This was because Ethan Evans was the best. He had a great passion for his work and it showed. Although very humble in nature, he was simply the best and he knew it. He never let it affect him in any way other than the desire to continue to be the best.

I guess I’ll start with this old desk. He went to his computer and after a time printed out a picture of that the desk originally looked like. He worked for a couple of hours when the phone rang. “Evans Woodworking. Ethan speaking. How may I help you today?” He answered in a chipper voice.

“Hey, baby, watcha doin?”

A big smile lit up his face. “Hey Patrick. I’m working on restoring an old desk. It’s going to be awesome by the time I’m done with it.”

“Can I come over? I love watching you work. You’re so intense, yet peaceful at the same time. Shows how much you really love your work.”
